Chinese Institute Geneva (CIG) is a politically and religiously neutral non-profit foundation registered in Swiss Federal.
CIG aims at teaching standard Mandarin using simplified and traditional Chinese script with “pinyin”, according to the official Chinese Language
Synopsis, together with an introduction of Chinese culture. When students finish their basic Chinese learning, they will be issued with certificate
of our institute. The Chinese courses will be given in 3 levels: beginners, intermediate and advance levels.
CIG offers a platform for students to learn Chinese, to obtain certain capacities in listening, speaking, reading and writing. Furthermore, CIG also
offer classes to assist students to participate in the HSK examinations, which are the official Chinese Proficiency tests for overseas
Chinese and foreign students set by the NOCFL(National Office for Teaching Chinese as a Foreign Language).
CIG aims to adapt to the needs of Chinese children living abroad, and to help those Swiss-born Chinese children to master their mother tongue and
better understand Chinese culture, with the goal to fulfill their full potential to become bilingual or multilingual.
CIG aims to attract non-mother tongue school students and adults to learn Chinese. Establish Chinese classes for non-mother tongue teenagers and
adults. CIG also offers Business Chinese class designed for professionals in various fields: banking, finance, legal, medical, hotel industry,
etc. Curriculum for these courses can be specifically constructed to meet each customer’s unique requirements. By learning Chinese, promote
culture and economic exchange in all aspects between Switzerland and China.
CIG aims to act as a window for Chinese culture, by setting up Chinese culture classes, Chinese art and crafts classes, such as calligraphy, Tea
ceremony, Chinese painting, Chinese GongFu, Chinese traditional dance, Chinese traditional craftsmanship. CIG will also organize Chinese summer
camps for teenagers; lectures and activities related to Chinese culture.
With different backgrounds in high education and schooling in China, the teachers are well qualified native speakers and rich in teaching and
cultural experience.
